David has been a lifelong Bible student and teacher, speaking in churches and at youth rallies since he was a teenager. Having memorized several books of the Bible and presented them to churches and college groups, David even presented the Apostle Paul’s second letter to Timothy dressed in Roman prison attire in worship services to help the audiences feel the power of Paul’s words. This presentation was done in both English and Spanish, to meet each congregation’s needs. David has spent tens of thousands of hours studying Scripture and has read through the Bible hundreds of time. This has enabled David to present memorable Bible lessons to high school and adult classes for years, focusing on long term retention by each class.
While in college, David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and afterward became a plant manager of a Fortune 500 company at the age of twenty-four, later becoming a successful sales professional in that industry. While traveling around the country, David researched the paradigm of young people leaving the church by talking to church leaders as well as numerous young people who had left the church. This research inspired the writing of “Heaven’s Gold”. In addition, being a two-sport college athlete and an instrument-rated pilot led David to understand the correlation between sports discipline and aviation discipline to Christian discipline, which is highlighted in the book.
David enjoys playing basketball, racquetball, skiing, golf and flying. He and Kathy, his wife of thirty-seven years, live in Brentwood, Tennessee.
